Psalm 37:23, James :2-5, 1 John 5:14-15, Proverbs 4:4-9, 1 Kings 3:3, 1 Kings 4:29-34, James 4:3, Proverbs 15:1, James 1:19
In this hour, we are going to need the wisdom of God! There’s decisions and situations that we encounter daily, weekly, and maybe you are encountering right now where you don’t know what to do? “SHOULD I GO? SHOULD I STAY? LORD, I NEED MORE MONEY! I’M DROWNING IN DEBT? MY MARRIAGE IS FALLING APART, WHAT DO I DO? I CAN’T HANDLE ALL THIS OPPOSITION THAT IS COMING WAY!”
The Lord is telling us that we are asking for the wrong things! Not that the things are wrong, but the very prayers that we are praying are “centered” around an answer for a specific move, and not for SIMPLY WISDOM—“JUST ASK FOR IT!”
- ASK WITH EXPECTANCY
- ASK IN FAITH (without wavering)
James 1:5-6 TLB says: “If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask him, and he will gladly tell you, for he is always ready to give a bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask him; he will not resent it. But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to tell you, for a doubtful mind will be as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.”
James has laid the foundation for the rest of his letter in the first couple of scriptures (James 1:2-4). He revealed that the Christian life is about cultivating a deeper trust in God as trials come our way. In fact, those trials are exactly what we need in order to learn to trust God more.
Whether or not we get the wisdom we are seeking hinges on whether or not we truly trust God as the best source of wisdom.
Are you seeking God for wisdom? Have you been focusing so much on a solution to the problem, and not asking for the wisdom of God? Have you been asking with the right motive?
LET’S TALK ABOUT IT!!!
